Christmas Day!

We had such a blessed Christmas together. (In part because we were actually healthy!) We woke up EARLY Christmas morning to open presents. After a discussion with a friend about how difficult it can be to incorporate the true meaning of Christmas to kids- she shared an idea with me. We started out the morning reading the Christmas story from the Bible. We talked with Abby and Ty about the most important gift of all-Jesus!! We talked about the three present Jesus got from the Wise man- Gold, incense and myrrh. We then let them open the three presents we got them. It was a wonderful start to Christmas Day- they seemed to truly comprehend that Christmas wasn't just about present for them. They were very happy and content with only three presents. I think it was be a new tradition for us. Ty opening his gift Abby bought him at her school's Secret Shopper.
